Q\u00eb n\u00eb shekullin XVII, filozofi e dijetari i madh gjerman, Leibniz, ishte marr\u00eb edhe me gjuh\u00ebn shqipe, por e njihte fare pak dhe e lidhte me keltishten. N\u00eb shekullin XVIII, Rektori i Seminarit italo-shqiptar t\u00eb Palermos, Paolo Maria Parrino, pati b\u00ebr\u00eb studime t\u00eb gjera mbi historin\u00eb dhe ethnografin\u00eb shqiptare. Botimi i profesorit gjerman J. Thunmann &#8220;K\u00ebrkime mbi historin\u00eb e popujve t&#8217;Evrop\u00ebs lindore&#8221; (m\u00eb 1774) zgjoi nj\u00eb interes m\u00eb t\u00eb gjall\u00eb rreth shqipes. Thunmann-i, duke u p\u00ebshtetur n\u00eb studimet gjuh\u00ebsore, p\u00ebrfshinte edhe Thrak\u00ebt n\u00eb p\u00ebrb\u00ebrjen e popullsis\u00eb shqiptare. Malte-Brun e ndante n\u00eb tre grupe prejardhjen e shqipes duke e lidhur me gjuh\u00ebt e vjetra t&#8217;Evrop\u00ebs. Nj\u00eb shtytje t\u00eb re i dha studimit t\u00eb shqipes dhe t&#8217;origjin\u00ebs s\u00eb kombit ton\u00eb vepra e dijetarit gjerman, J. Xylander, &#8220;Gjuha e Shqiptar\u00ebvet&#8221;, botuar n\u00eb Frankfurt m\u00eb 1835. Por sidomos shkrimet e t\u00eb famshmit Georg von Hahn, konsulli austriak n\u00eb Janin\u00eb, &#8220;Studime Shqiptare&#8221;, botuar m\u00eb 1853-1854, hap\u00ebn nj\u00eb tjet\u00ebr horizont p\u00ebr Albanologjin\u00eb, dhe Hahn-i u shikua p\u00ebr disa koh\u00eb si babaj i saj. Ky e p\u00ebrshkruante Shqip\u00ebrin\u00eb dhe popullin e saj me histori, gjuh\u00eb e zakone, duke botuar nj\u00eb pjes\u00eb t\u00eb folklorit, nj\u00eb fjalor dhe nj\u00eb gramatik\u00eb t\u00eb shqipes. Shkrimtari fr\u00ebng Ami Bou\u00e9, n\u00eb vepr\u00ebn e tij &#8220;Turqia e Evrop\u00ebs&#8221; (Paris, 1840) dhe t\u00eb tjer\u00eb auktor\u00eb kan\u00eb hedhur drit\u00eb mbi shtrirjen gjeografike dhe ve\u00e7orit\u00eb ethnike t\u00eb kombit shqiptar. &#8220;Shqiptar\u00ebt jan\u00eb ndoshta raca m&#8217;e bukur e Turqis\u00eb\u2026 midis tyre mund t\u00eb gjinden tipa t\u00eb denj\u00eb p\u00ebr t&#8217;u marr\u00eb si model i Afrodit\u00ebs ose i Apollonit&#8221;, shkruante Ami Bou\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Linguist\u00eb t\u00eb m\u00ebdhenj si Franz Bopp dhe August Schleicher (Gjerman\u00eb), Holger Pedersen (Danes) u muar\u00ebn me studimin e shqipes. Bopp-i ishte i mendimit se kjo zinte nj\u00eb vend t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb n\u00eb familjen e gjuh\u00ebvet indo-evropiane, kurse Schleicher-i e mbante p\u00ebr nj\u00eb gjuh\u00eb pellazgjike. K\u00ebto theori kishin r\u00ebnd\u00ebsi t\u00eb madhe n&#8217;an\u00ebn historike, sepse gjuha tregonte edhe rr\u00ebnj\u00ebn e popullit shqiptar. Prandaj tek Rilindasit u p\u00ebrhap ideja se Shqiptar\u00ebt rrithnin prej Pellazg\u00ebvet dhe se ishin kush\u00ebrinj me Grek\u00ebt. K\u00ebta t\u00eb fundit u p\u00ebrpoq\u00ebn t&#8217;a shfryt\u00ebzonin legjend\u00ebn pellazgjike p\u00ebr t&#8217;i futur Shqiptar\u00ebt n\u00ebn sundimin e tyre, gjoja si me origjin\u00eb t\u00eb p\u00ebrbashk\u00ebt. Studimet e reja dhe t\u00eb thelluara t\u00eb historis\u00eb nuk kan\u00eb mundur t\u00eb p\u00ebrcaktojn\u00eb asgj\u00eb rreth Pellazg\u00ebvet, t\u00eb cil\u00ebt mbeten si nj\u00eb em\u00ebr i mjegullt. Grek\u00ebt e Vjet\u00ebr quanin Pellazg\u00eb at\u00eb shtres\u00eb popullsie q\u00eb gjet\u00ebn n\u00eb Ballkan dhe n&#8217;ishujt e Egjeut p\u00ebrpara se t\u00eb zbrisnin fiset helenike. Pellazg\u00ebt kishin q\u00ebn\u00eb nd\u00ebrtonj\u00ebs qytetesh dhe muresh vigane me gur\u00eb shum\u00eb t\u00eb m\u00ebdhenj; Grek\u00ebt i muar\u00ebn prej tyre emrat e disa per\u00ebndive, sipas Herodotit. P\u00ebr fise pellazgjike \u00ebsht\u00eb folur jo vet\u00ebm n\u00eb Ballkan, por n\u00eb t\u00ebr\u00eb bot\u00ebn e Mesdheut, prej Azis\u00eb s\u00eb Vog\u00ebl deri n&#8217;Itali. Tek historian\u00ebt e vjet\u00ebr grek\u00eb, Efori, Herodoti, Thuqidhidhi e deri te Hesiodi gjejm\u00eb nj\u00eb mishmash t\u00eb ngat\u00ebrruar rreth Pellazg\u00ebvet. Ky em\u00ebr mbetet akoma i mjegullt edhe p\u00ebr historian\u00ebt e sotsh\u00ebm me gjith\u00eb studimet q\u00eb jan\u00eb b\u00ebr\u00eb rreth tij e v\u00ebrteta \u00ebsht\u00eb se fiset helenike sikurse fiset e t\u00eb Par\u00ebvet ton\u00eb, kur erdh\u00ebn n\u00eb Ballkan, gjet\u00ebn aty nj\u00eb shtres\u00eb popullsie t\u00eb m\u00ebparshme t\u00eb cil\u00ebn e quajt\u00ebn Pellazg\u00eb. Prej asaj shtrese muar\u00ebn sigurisht fjal\u00eb dhe elemente t\u00eb qytet\u00ebrimit. Rr\u00ebnj\u00ebt e p\u00ebrbashk\u00ebta t\u00eb disa fjal\u00ebve nd\u00ebrmjet shqipes dhe greqishtes e kan\u00eb ndoshta burimin tek shtresa e popullsis\u00eb pellazgjike. Por si fiset helenike ashtu edhe fiset st\u00ebrgjyshore t\u00eb Shqiptar\u00ebvet erdh\u00ebn m\u00eb von\u00eb e u vendos\u00ebn p\u00ebrmbi at\u00eb shtres\u00eb. Dhe ishin fise t\u00eb ndryshme (t\u00eb Par\u00ebt ton\u00eb me Helen\u00ebt) ndon\u00ebse b\u00ebnin pjes\u00eb n\u00eb familjen Ariane ose Indo-Evropiane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Linguisti austriak Gustav Meyer e hodhi posht\u00eb theorin\u00eb pellazgjike t\u00eb shqipes dhe u p\u00ebrpoq t\u00eb v\u00ebrtetoj\u00eb se kjo vjen prej ilirishtes s\u00eb vjet\u00ebr. Por Meyer-i e paraqit mjaft t\u00eb kufizuar numrin e fjal\u00ebvet-rr\u00ebnj\u00eb t\u00eb shqipes duke i pandehur t\u00eb huaja nj\u00eb pjes\u00eb t\u00eb tjerash. Kurse linguist\u00eb m\u00eb t\u00eb rinj, nd\u00ebr ta edhe Norbert Jokl-i, e tregojn\u00eb gjuh\u00ebn ton\u00eb shum\u00eb m\u00eb t\u00eb pasur me rr\u00ebnj\u00eb thjesht\u00eb t\u00eb sajat nga \u00e7&#8217;e mendonte Meyer-i. Ve\u00e7se Jokl-i e nxjerr shqipen me rrjedhje iliro-thrake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Duket se Ilir\u00ebt, Thrak\u00ebt, Maqedonasit, Dak\u00ebt, Frigj\u00ebt e t\u00eb tjer\u00eb p\u00ebrb\u00ebnin n\u00eb koh\u00ebt e vjetra nj\u00eb familje popujsh me lidhje gjuhe e gjaku, sikurse popujt sllav\u00eb q\u00eb zbrit\u00ebn n&#8217;Evrop\u00eb m\u00eb von\u00eb. Prej brigjevet t&#8217;Epirit, Ilir\u00ebt kap\u00ebrcyen n&#8217;Itali, ku jo vet\u00ebm Japig\u00ebt dhe Mesap\u00ebt, por disa historian\u00eb mendojn\u00eb se edhe Sabin\u00ebt ishin Ilirian\u00eb. Raca iliriane kaloi Apeninet, sipas k\u00ebtyre, dhe arriti deri n&#8217;Etruri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Sidoqoft\u00eb, prej k\u00ebsaj familjeje popujsh t\u00eb vjet\u00ebr, kan\u00eb mbetur t\u00eb pashkrir\u00eb vet\u00ebm Shqiptar\u00ebt dhe gjuha shqipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Pra, si\u00e7 e pau p\u00ebr her\u00ebn e par\u00eb Bopp-i dhe si\u00e7 e v\u00ebrtetojn\u00eb Pedersen, Jokl etj., shqipja z\u00eb nj\u00eb vend t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb n\u00eb grupin &#8220;satem&#8221; t\u00eb gjuh\u00ebvet indo-evropiane. Shqiptar\u00ebt p\u00ebrb\u00ebjn\u00eb nj\u00eb komb t\u00eb dalluar, nga m\u00eb t\u00eb vjetrit n&#8217;Evrop\u00eb, dhe nuk jan\u00eb nj\u00eb p\u00ebrzjerje e \u00e7oroditur si\u00e7 mendonin armiqt\u00eb e tyre.
